• What is Anger?
- Final attempt to control a situation
- A natural response to threats
• Are there varying degrees of anger?
- From mild irritation to rage
• Wayne Dyer says, “To rule one’s anger is well, but to prevent it is better.”
- So how do we prevent anger from happening
• How do we get to a place where anger happens?
- denial
- avoidance (not wanting confrontation)
- tolerating too much
- sacrificing too much of one’s self
• Barbara De Angelis says “The more anger towards the past you carry in your
heart, the less capable you are of loving in the present.”
• Once we are there, how do we shift from anger to peace?
- BREATHE FIRST!
- become aware of and acknowledge our feelings
- meditate and get clear on what our needs are
- affirm that peace is available now and be open to having it
• Your Choices: You can Suppress it, Manage it or begin to Express it in a way
that is healing for everyone involved.
