LIVING INNER PEACE™ ARTICLE ON AWARENESS (Taken from the March 10th Teleclass with Rebecca Le Vine) Awareness is to know what is going on in your consciousness. To know this you must become aware – you must awaken from your sleep and know what is going on in your consciousness. Because to know what is happening in consciousness is the KEY to making change. Because real change, true change, change that lasts and impacts the out-picturing of your life comes from changing the consciousness. What is happening in our consciousness – our beliefs, our fears, our doubts, etc is what directs our behavior. Again, that is why awareness is the KEY. Cultivating awareness is a journey, it is a life-long progression. I believe that it is the journey to the God within. My point here is that awareness is a process. We begin looking within, we do begin blind, but then we do see. Cultivating awareness requires patience, forgiveness and lots and lots of love for yourself. You will find that as you begin to grow in your awareness, you must love yourself as you have never loved yourself before. What a gift!! We believe that cultivating awareness brings peace because when you are aware, those mysteries of “why don’t things work out for me? Why am I not happy? Why don’t have I work that I love? Where is the love in this life that I need? – all those mysteries are answered, they are revealed within your consciousness – and awareness gets you there. Let me explain. I have always wanted a Miss Fitness America body. Let me tell you, about 10 years ago, I wanted that so badly. I made myself miserable because I never achieved it. You can imagine all the negative messages I gave myself because I never achieved that look. But I couldn’t understand why I never got what I wanted. Awareness led me to the truth. I was never willing to have it. I was never willing to give up chocolate, I was never willing to go the gym 3 hours a day and believe me, I was never willing to subsist on a diet of egg whites and carrots. Trust me, that will never, ever happen. And when I came the awareness that I wasn’t willing to have what I wanted – I got peace. There was nothing wrong with me, I get to eat the chocolate I love and I came to love my wiggle and a jiggle. Peace – and my body thanks me everyday. If there is something you want in your life and you don’t have it, the answer is the space between the wanting of it and the willingness to have it. If you can gain awareness of what is in that space between the wanting and willingness, you get your answers, can make your changes and come to peace.
